I won an online contest earlier this year with Speculative Grammarian, the leading journal of satirical linguistics.
I have long been interested in languages. I took 4 years of French in high school, and also one year of German. I intended to major in French and math when I began my college career at the age of 17; I wound up back at my local community college. When I transfered to Taylor, the only way to finish in 2 years was to major in math and international studies with a concentration in French.
After I finished my MA in mathematics from SLU, I began studying linguistics through SIL at the University of North Dakota. I came as close to completing the program as I could without being able to choose a topic for the thesis.
